Enjoy the sun while it lasts. Lagos stays dry and around 21°C until Friday 6 November, then rain arrives on Saturday 7. Thunderstorms are forecast for Sunday 8 and Monday 9, with gusts of up to about 70 km/h. Showers could hang around until Friday 13, before it dries out again on 14–15 November. That adds up to about 76 mm of rain in total.

Lagos weather, day by day
- Tue 3 – Fri 6: dry and sunny, around 21°C.
- Sat 7: rain starts.
- Sun 8: thunderstorms.
- Mon 9: thunderstorms and the windiest day, with gusts up to about 70 km/h.
- Tue 10 – Fri 13: showers and drizzle, getting lighter.
- Sat 14 – Sun 15: drying out.
The heaviest rain is on Sunday and Monday. It stays mild throughout, so think wet rather than cold. If you have a drive, a ferry trip or an outdoor event planned for Sunday or Monday, move it earlier in the week or have a backup plan ready.
Before the rain: make the most of this week
Hit the beach
You still have four dry days of around 21°C. Make one of them a beach day.
Do the cliff walk
The clifftop paths get muddy and slippery once the rain arrives, so walk them this week.
Get your laundry dry
Wash everything now and dry it outside while it’s still sunny. Drying clothes indoors during a wet week is slow.
Turn on the dehumidifier
Older Lagos houses get damp fast. Run the dehumidifier and air the rooms before Saturday. If you already see black spots, our guide to removing mould in the Algarve covers what to do.

Rainy-day ideas in Lagos
- Sauna: a storm day is a good excuse to warm up. See our guide to saunas in Lagos.
- Coworking: get a desk with fast Wi-Fi and some company. Find one in our Lagos coworking guide.
- Cafés: bring your laptop and a book, and settle in somewhere for a long coffee.
- The train to Tavira: watch the rain from the window on a slow ride along the Algarve line, then explore Tavira’s old town and riverside cafés between showers.
Pack a jacket
From Saturday, take a waterproof jacket every time you go out. Leave the umbrella at home on Monday, because it won’t survive gusts of 70 km/h. Wear shoes with grip, since the town’s cobblestones get slippery when wet. Bring in or tie down anything loose on your balcony or terrace before Sunday, and close the shutters on the windward side.
